African Immigrant Fellowship for Peace and Reconciliation Minimize

An African Immigrant Fellowship for Peace and Reconciliation has been formed under the leadership of Humphrey Muraya of Kenya. The ministry seeks to serve immigrants from the various African nations and tribal groups within those nations. Recognizing that many who come to the U.S.A. bear the scars of emotional and physical wounds experienced in the conflicts of their homelands, the AIFP&R provides opportunities for learning the “ways of peace and reconciliation” through upholding one another in prayer, studying scripture, practicing hospitality, training in conflict resolution, celebrating important dates and events in the lives of the participants, giving special attention to children and youth, and engaging in works of compassion and justice.

The AIFP&R meets on the 2nd Sunday of each month at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, 113 Wilkinson Road, Richmond, VA. 804-266-1183. htmuraya@yahoo.com.

The Prayer Labrynth at Trinity Minimize

You are invited to walk the Prayer Labyrinth @ Trinity, a classical seven circuit labyrinth constructed by members of the congregation as a gift to the community.

Labyrinths are not mazes, although in the English language the words labyrinth and maze are frequently confused. Mazes contain dead ends. They may have more than one entrance and more than one exit and are designed to make us lose our way; they’re a game.

Labyrinths have the exact opposite purpose: they are designed to help us find our way. They have only one path—from the outer edge into the center and back out again. To walk a labyrinth slowly and prayfully can center the spirit and involves moving your body and opening your heart in faith.

People of faith have been walking and praying this prayer path for centuries. Now it is your turn…
